Les Fortinieres is a stunning 7 acre lake situated on the outskirts of Vendoeuvres, offering a peaceful and picturesque setting surrounded by beautiful countryside. For many years it has been regarded as a dream venue for a select group of anglers who were fortunate enough to know about it, while remaining largely undiscovered by the wider fishing community. Its quiet reputation and natural charm have made it a truly special place to visit. Since December 2022, the lake has been under new ownership, bringing fresh care, attention and a long term vision for the future of this unique fishery.
As part of this new chapter, Les Fortinieres has recently been restocked with 98 carefully selected, uncaught carp. Each fish was hand picked for quality and growth potential, helping to build a strong and exciting stock for the years ahead. These fast growing carp have been introduced to develop the lake into an outstanding carp fishing destination, giving anglers the opportunity to target healthy, powerful fish in a tranquil and well maintained environment. The aim is to preserve the character of Les Fortinieres while steadily improving the fishing experience for everyone who visits.
Exclusive access to world-class carp fishing
We are situated in a quiet and peaceful area within secure private grounds, with luxury lakeside accommodation and an outdoor swimming pool (subject to season).
With depths ranging from 2 to 6 foot and there being no cat fish, poisson chat, crayfish or weed. With the maximum of 4 anglers only per week this ensures each angler plenty of water.
As mentioned the depths of the lake go from 2ft to 6ft which seems a bit daunting to some who are fishing in the shallower parts of the lake but surprisingly the shallows have done an incredible about of big fish and not just in the day but also through the early hours in very low temperatures.
The water is murky with mainly a clay bed with silty marginal areas and many gravel areas can be found.
The carp tend not to show themselves so much but looking for the odd show and typical watercraft of bubbles to plumes of difference in water colour where the carp disturb the lake bed tends to give them away and are what to look out for.
Keeping lines pinned down so as not to spook the carp is also a great advantage of tripping up one of the lakes huge carp
Facilities and Location
Our luxury accommodation is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom stunning house with a large kitchen/diner, with high specification appliances including a dishwasher and washing machine and more. The living room has 2 comfy sofas, an open wood burner for the winter months, and English television should you wish to relax indoors during your stay, along with full wifi connection.
We offer an optional food package which includes a choice of breakfasts and evening meals all served with a dessert. You can choose from a selection of dishes to suit you and your group. This can be delivered to your swim should your require. More information available on request.
On site we have a very knowledgeable and experienced management team who are on hand to assist should you need them. On hand is a qualified chef who provides outstanding food to your requirement. Menu to be discussed when booking.

Whether you need guidance on swims, bait choices, or tactics for the lake, they are happy to share their knowledge and help you make the most of your time at Les Fortinieres. Their aim is to ensure every angler has the best possible experience while fishing the lake.
The nearest town is Vendoeuvres which is a simple 10 minute drive. Here you can find a bakers, a chemist, a general store and a tabac.
In addition to a large number of tourist attractions, the local area is also renowned for their excellent restaurants.
